Before you give birth there are certain things you will wish to put in place like preparing a safe home environment for your new born baby.
In our membership section we cover many aspects of what you need to look out for, including :
However, some essentials you really should put in place are :
1. Ensuring that the space where your baby may crawl is free of poisons, electrical sockets, unprotected stairs, and any other dangers that may harm them.
2. That their crib or cot is free of items that may cause them harm, especially items that could cause suffocation. We do recommend co-sleeping but certain conditions should be met to ensure the safety of your baby.
3. That you review all the toys that you or anyone else may give them to ensure that they do not in any way cause a danger to your baby or child.
4. That you own a good quality car seat that you can use whenever you travel with them.
It is true that in some parts of the world, car seats are not used, and you often see two adults, two children and a baby driving around all on one moped.
However, we believe if the technology is available, then it is wise to take advantage of it to ensure a safe environment for your child.
Once they can communicate with you, then you can explain to them how to handle other dangers in our beautiful world and they can take more responsibility for their own safety. However, until that time, it is wise to ensure that their environment is as free from hazards and as safe as possible for them.
